More than 60 instant bingo machines were confiscated by officials from a bingo parlor. Hundreds of similar bingo devices which operate in an alike manner have been seized over the past year when they began appearing in the county.
Since March, all devices which have similarities with any kind of slot machine, may it be instant bingo or any other betting game, are being either removed or disconnected from places such as restaurants, bars and other establishments. This is due to the clear violation of this state’s law.
The bingo hall, Mechanicsville, was the only parlor left in the state which continued to have operating bingo machines, stated Sheriff Timothy Cameron. This ended when around noon yesterday, state officials took hold of all the bingo machines and loaded them onto a trailer.
Cameron refused to state why he thinks that the bingo machines seized in the halls are illegal, and said: “There’s a bigger picture here. The point is, the law is more than about the bingo machines.” Supposedly, those bingo machines whose operation mechanism do not include elements of chance, are allowed in bingo parlors, whilst the ones which resemble typical bingo slot machines aren’t.
