Land based bingo players tend to be older people, whilst online bingo players are generally younger, enjoy using social networking websites and get along better with technologies.
The managing director of bingoport.co.uk, Scott Logan, who firmly believes the above statement, also believes that there is some sort of link bonding online and land based players together. He thinks that a lot of the people who nowadays play online bingo, actually learned the game by watching their parents or uncles who played regularly at their local bingo hall. The social element is one that still remains when played in online bingos.
“There is still a very strong social aspect to online bingo – in fact, any operator will tell you that the core of their site is their customer facing chat hosts, who run the bingo chat and serve to build customer loyalty through the online community”, says Mr. Logan.
The Bingo Association revealed that during 2007, over 8.5 million people played bingo. Also, the research showed that during that same year, there was an increase of 15 percent in young players. This means that almost half of the competitors are now aged under 45.
The research, along with the Office for National Statistics research, also revealed that 41% of men and 29% of women use internet as a way of downloading media such as games and music and that they consider high-speed connection very important when doing these activities.
